My stress. My anxiety. My depression.

It’s a powerful word. My. When we use ‘my’ before a word, we own it.

My dog. My holiday. My dance routine. My scuba dive. Owning it makes it a part of our identity… and that’s good.

But if it’s something we want to heal, owning it becomes a barrier to transformation.

My stress, my anxiety, my depression has less power when it’s stress, anxiety, depression. It no longer belongs to us. It no longer controls us.

To experience the world differently we can start with choosing the thoughts we think and the words we use. Try it.
