Trauma is fixable.

The thinking of the day is that you heal emotional wounds by ripping them open.

Unfortunately, its wrong.

I say unfortunately because the widespread acceptance of doing things this way has resulted in a lot of harm. It has resulted in gentle, sensitive and smart people being re-traumatised, and learning that help is harmful.

Its taking two unnecessary and painful steps backward before we go forward.

Fortunately, its wrong.

I say fortunately because there are many opportunities to heal without ever talking about it. Therapies that are truly benign, experiences that are miraculous and deeply transformative.

It’s all about the timing, and synchronicity of the right thing at the right time in the right context.

And more than anything, it’s about safety.
